We are looking for a qualified Modeling and Simulation Specialist II to work in Arlington, VA.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity in the greater Washington, DC area for a Modeling and Simulation Specialist (Mid-level) to support Department of Navy initiatives for Digital transformation, System-of-Systems Engineering (SoSE), DevSecOps, and the future of Digital warfighting. The M&S Specialist will serve in a cross-functional role supporting a variety of Digital/SoS efforts across Naval program offices. Primary support will be to the Digital Integration Support Cell (DISC), a direct report program office under ASN(RD&A), and supporting projects across NAVSEA, NAVAIR, and NAVWAR.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The prospective employee is responsible for tasks including:

• Plan, analyze, design, evaluate, and optimize Modeling and Simulation (M&S) architectures and systems.

• Provide expertise in M&S functions and operations for exercises, plans, demonstrations, and instructions for military M&S systems.

• Provide supervision and guidance on the proper operation and use of simulation models and exercises.

• Provide technical assistance and subject matter expertise to Naval information technology staff.

• Support technical reviews of drawings, interfaces, and specifications of Naval systems and networks.

• Provide consultation on complex projects and support Naval customer as the top-level contributor/specialist.

• Generate and deliver timely status updates, weekly reports, and briefing materials, as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Required Attributes

• US Citizen - Eligible for DoD Secret Clearance

• 5-10 years relevant experience

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field (computer science, electrical engineering, math, etc.)

• Able to leverage experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

• Experience with SySML, UAF, or other systems modeling languages and familiarity with MagicDraw, Cameo, or other systems modeling tools

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

• Travel 10-15 percent

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

Preferred Attributes

• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher

• Master’s degree

• Prior DoD/DoN experience with a strong background in DoD systems and DoD networks

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable commercial cloud systems

• Experience working with and/or developing in DevSecOps continuation integration environments

• Experience with DIS, HLA, or other distributed modeling protocols
