Director of Business Development and Marketing

We are seeking a Senior Business Development and Marketing Professional for our customer in Pueblo, Colorado. The Director of Business Development must be a US Citizen and have a current DOD Security Clearance, or have the ability to get a Security Clearance. The Director of Business Development can be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, but will be required to be in Pueblo once a week. The Director of Business Development will oversee the organization's sales and marketing day-to-day activities and major departmental programs. The Director of Business Development and Marketing will develop strategic sales and marketing objectives, establish sales territories and quotas, manages budgets and evaluates sales performance. The Director of Business Development and Marketing must manage a direct sales team to achieve annual and monthly revenue objectives, develop marketing programs and materials such as web site development and administration, advertising, event support and online promotions. Expertise in a wide variety of Sales & Marketing industry concepts, practices, and procedures, such as channel development, channel conflict management resolution, salary and commission structures, judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Business Development and Marketing responsibilities:
Develops and implements strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for revenue.
Applies extensive knowledge of Government/Defense contracting policies and procedures to define and execute business development and sales strategies to achieve corporate objectives for revenue.
Forecast all revenue in the commercial and defense sectors on a global basis Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets.
Manage all aspects of Inside Sales and Business Development
Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
Directs commercial and defense market channel development and management activities and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
Lead and support major proposal preparation with sales and Business Development team
Lead the drive of C4I Program requirements within the DOD.
Prepares periodic sales reports showing achieved vs. forecasted vs. objective revenue, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness. Optimize the use of SalesForce within the Sales/BD/Marketing team
The Director of Business Development and Marketing will guide preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate brand image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including industry events (e.g. trade shows, conferences, industry days, etc.) print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
The Director of Business Development and Marketing should monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
The Director of Business Development and Marketing will coordinate between sales department and other sales related organizational units (e.g. manufacturing, shipping, quality, product development, finance).
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Business Development and Marketing Education:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, engineering, or related field. 7+ years of related progressive management
This position requires the employee to be a citizen of the USA and to be eligible for a government secret level security clearance.

Preferred background:
Master’s degree in marketing or business administration and E-commerce history.
Active Security Clearance.
Foreign Military Process.
Working knowledge of GNSS technology and hardware. Understanding of RF systems.

Business Development and Marketing Travel:
Travel is primarily local during normal business days. Business travel should be expected 10% to 25% of the time.
