Job Description

Key Tasks:
• Work as part of a small team evaluating options for system modernization, exploring solutions for performance, throughput, storage and retrieval challenges.
• Help team to choose and implement the development, CM, build and test environments for the new system.
• Work with DBA to define/refine database schemas and develop access methods necessary to support prototype development.
• Develop methods to test functionality and performance of various prototype solutions
• Participate in meetings, and develop and present briefings.
• As prototype matures, work as part of a team to plan and implement a phased approach to replace the existing system

Required Skills:
• Java Development experience developing web applications
• Must work well in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to understand complex, existing systems, identify areas of challenge for migration to possible new architectures

Desired Skills:
• Experience in Java development of web applications with multiple tools (such as AngularJS, NodeJS, JPA, hibernate, Rest, Swing, Ajax, etc), and an understanding of when to use each
• Migration of existing applications to the new technologies (VM, new DB, new architectural model).Prototyping of solutions and evaluations of results
• Experience working in the Intelligence Community or DoD
• Experience and knowledge of differences in various implementations, languages, tools, and development IDEs
• Knowledge of SIGINT or ELINT
• Experience with MACHINESHOP
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Experience with designing and implementing prototypes and trade studies
• Knowledge of support and interfaces for SOA, Cloud, and other paradigms
• Experience with CASPORT/PKI integration

Education / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• No certifications required, but current NSYS (developer PRIVAC) is a plus.
