Job Description

Systems Administrator
Clearance: TS/SCI Full Scope poly
Location: Laurel, MD

Job Description: The selected candidate will provide support for implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a variety of Information Technology (IT) systems in support of software development and COTS tools implementations. This individual will be expected to work cooperatively with system administrators, systems engineers, software developers, and Government personnel to support day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client, server, storage, network, software, and database systems.

Additionally, the individual will create and maintain infrastructure diagrams, create whitepapers and user guides, perform technical research, and assist with the development of documentation such as SSPs, SOPs, CONOPs, SecConOps, RVTM, etc.

Individual Capabilities Required:
A Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in information systems, engineering or other related discipline is required.
The selected individual should have experience supporting IT systems Government and/or Industry customers. Must have experience creating and managing virtualized servers (VMs) and supporting Linux and Microsoft server environments.
Must be able to work independently and with a team to troubleshoot and solve complex problems. The selected candidate should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working with users, technical staff, and Government leadership.
The selected individual will have experience with managing multiple virtual environments (development, integration, staging, production), including installation, partitioning, configuration, and backups.

Individual Capabilities Desired:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience and knowledge of Linux (Redhat or CentOS), Tomcat or a similar application server, SSL configuration, and Yum repository management. Knowledge of SSH, TCP/IP, and scripting such as Bash/Perl/Python is highly desired, as is configuration and management of Git, Redmine, Jenkins, and other software development suites. Experience with MySQL in a high-availability environment is highly desired.
Experience supporting systems through Agency security accreditation per policies NIST 800-53 and DCID 6/3 is desired.
Security+, CISSP, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or other Linux certification (Linux+, LPIC-001) as well as database-related certifications are a plus.
