We are looking for a qualified Sr. Systems Linux/Unix Administrator located in Dahlgren, VA.


Position Description:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the overall operation, maintenance, and support of all enterprise-level computing infrastructure within the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Integrated Processing Environment (IPE). The SLBM IPE user community consists of Government employees along with supporting Candidates. The current SLBM IPE consists of a large number of computing systems, servers, storage, networks, and related technologies distributed between numerous buildings and residing in secure spaces at various security levels, up to Top Secret.

Responsibilities and Duties:

The Candidate shall provide Operating System administration and support for technologies including Red Hat, Solaris, Oracle, and Linux.
The Candidate shall provide email support to include SMTP, Sendmail, and Postfix.
The Candidate shall provide Application Development Server support which houses applications including Jira, Confluence, Docker, and Nexus.
The Candidate shall provide support for various protocols including Secure Shell (SSH), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Network Time Protocol (NTP), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), and Network Information Service (NIS) SSH, DHCP, NTP, LDAP, and NIS.
The Candidate shall provide programming support for languages including Java, C++, and Python.
The Candidate shall provide virtualization administration and support for technologies to include VMWare ESXi, Oracle Solaris Zones, Containers, and Red Hat Virtualization.
The Candidate shall provide database systems administration and support for technologies including Oracle DB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
The Candidate shall provide backup and recovery systems administration and support for technologies such as NetBackup, SnapVault, Snap Mirror, and Tape Libraries.
The Candidate shall patch systems using Repo’s, Red Hat Satellite Server, or other third-party patching solutions.
The Candidate shall maintain system compliance to include applying STIG’s, Patching and Host Based Security (HBSS)
The Candidate shall administer and support storage technologies to include Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Networks (SAN) devices.
The Candidate shall administer and support Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions to include Splunk and Syslog.
The Candidate shall assist the user community with operational questions, problems, utility functions, and system requests.
The Candidate shall employ risk management processes for Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations.
The Candidate shall attend meetings and provide informal oral briefings of Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Integrated Processing Environment (IPE) developments concerning assignment updates, requests, questions, security issues, and problems.
The Candidate shall maintain program and technical documentation, including Technical Manuals, White Papers, Standard Operating Procedures, and End User Instructions.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 5 Years working with Linux/Unix Admin
Comp TIA Security+ or CISSP, Certification for Linux/Unix Operating System (OS),
Secret with the ability to obtain TS
