Responsibilities

What you get to do every day:

• Design, build and deploy, and administer large scale multi-domain enterprise Windows environments
• Build, maintain and Windows desktops on both thick client hardware and within a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure leveraged by thin client hardware
• Provide support to multiple globally dispersed WAN connected sites
• Responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support
• Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance
• Design and define system architecture for Windows desktop solutions and client based applications
• Support the integration of the Windows desktop with a variety of enterprise services
• Evaluate desktop software and hardware technologies and determine the most efficient method to leverage the technology within the customer’s network environment
• Administer, operate, manage and maintain components for Windows desktop deployments to thick clients and VDI
• Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients
• Plan and direct upgrades of Windows desktop operating system version and supporting infrastructure and related components


Qualifications

What skills do you need?
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
• 12+ years of directly related experience in systems engineering
• Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop design engineering and implementation options
• Experience with Microsoft deployment tools to include Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
• Experience with engineering and deploying client software installation packages for Microsoft Windows desktops (physical and virtual)
• Experience with Application Virtualization to include, Citrix XenApp, Citrix App Layering, Microsoft APPV, and MSIX App Attach
• Experience with maintaining Windows desktop systems for mobile users on laptop hardware
• Experience with anti-virus and malware product integration within a Windows desktop configuration and remediation
• Experience with managing Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, DFS, DNS, DHCP, and VMware Dynamic Environment Manager.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365
• Experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019
• Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages
• Experience with managing and updating work tasks using ServiceNow
• Experience with maintaining system security compliancy following DISA STIGs
• CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
