Roles and Responsibilities:
Work with the director of Mid-tier Networking Vehicular Radio (MNVR) Technical Management Division (TMD) supporting the program's systems engineering effort and ensure that the MNVR product line meets user needs, as proven by successful completion of a battery of tests.
Solve engineering problems or manage the solution of engineering problems in the functional area and design, plan, install, integrate, and maintain backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks, including portions of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and the Global Information Grid (GIG).
Monitor Network Integration Event (NIE) activities and participate client sponsored activities with NIE. Support key management activities as the Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Serve as SME for the client and other consolidated planning systems as well as serving as the primary contact to NIE for small fill devices System Under Evaluation (SUE).
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), information papers, and briefings.
Requirements:
BA or BS degree in CS or Information Systems (or related field).
5+ years of experience with radio frequency (RF), software, or network management engineering.
Experience with developing sound plans of action and milestones (POA&M).
Experience with JTRS Network Management and Radio products in field or through exercises.
Knowledge of the DoD acquisition process as defined in DoD Instructions 5000.1 and 5000.2
Knowledge of mechanical engineering that permits the candidate to assess hardware and platform integration designs.
Knowledge of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) hardware architecture and design and JTRS Waveform, including WNW and SRW and Network Management products of the Joint Enterprise Networking Manager version 2.
Knowledge of the Army communications networks, including procedures for developing communications plans-Ability to interpret contractor design drawings, schematics, and software design documents.
Knowledge of IP-based routing, switching, and IP protocols, Type 1 encryption, and/or encryption devices used by the US Army
